Petra

Petra started her dance career by taking ballet classes and performing when she was only six years old in
her native Czech Republic. She attended a ballet high school at the age of 14 but everything changed
when she was introduced to ballroom dancing. Petra says: “What is more beautiful than two different
personalities and two different souls moving as one when they dance. I’ve always loved to dance and I
know dancing is the best way to stay in shape both physically and mentally. When you dance you forget
all your troubles and worries disappear. You are just simply having a great time…”! Petra and her
childhood dance partner Rosta Liduch were winners of Czech Championships and finalists and semifinalist
at many International Competitions. They traveled and competed in many different countries
including Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Poland, England, Hungary, Austria and the United States. They
immigrated to the U.S. in 2004. Petra continues to receive training by World Class Dance Coaches and
loves the discipline of Dance, practice and competing with the highest passion & commitment. Today
she competes with her partner Jiri Kosydar. They have won several major professional competitions
around the United States. “There is so much more to dancing than just movement. Dancing is a journey
and the farther you go, the deeper you get to know yourself, your strength, your weaknesses and a full
sense of emotions. To express those emotions through Dance is my life”. Petra has been teaching for
over 10 years and enjoys it very much. Her goal is to make the student feel happy and comfortable,
whether it is their first time on the dance floor, or they are a serious dancer looking to take their skill to
the next level.
